FAIR OAKS, Calif. (Oct. 18, 2013) - Casa Roble Fundamental High School stayed perfect in Capital Valley Conference play with a 52-7 victory over Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks.

The Rams, now 2-0 in league play, 6-1 overall, dominated the Broncos as they charged out to a 38-0 halftime lead en route to the win.

Casa Roble's first score of the game came in the opening drive of the contest as the Rams were pinned back at their own one yard line. They quickly drove down the field where quarterback Peyton Wilfley hit Angel Tenorio on a 49-yard pass play to land the Rams on the Bella Vista 15. Ron Quinn took the ball in on the next play with 9:53 showing on the clock. Michael Povey's extra point kick was good and Casa Roble owned a 7-0 lead.

Bella Vista mounted an extended drive on its first possession of the game only to have its efforts fumbled away with Casa Roble recovering, giving the Rams the ball on their own 38. The Rams wasted little time finding the end zone again, scoring with 2:46 remaining. The PAT kick was good and Casa Roble held a 14-0 lead.

Bella Vista again put together a good drive on their next possession, making it to the Rams' 24. Faced with a fourth-and-six, the Broncos failed to convert and turned the ball back over to Casa Roble. Casa Roble again drove in for a score. Wilfley hit Trent Mattson from nine yards out for a touchdown with Povey converting the extra point kick for a 21-0 lead with 6:43 left in the half.

After shutting the Broncos down on their next possession, Casa Roble started its next drive from its own 24. Despite several penalties, Casa Roble moved to the Bella Vista 20 where Wilfley hit Tenorio for a TD with 2:41 left. The PAT made it a 28-0 Rams' lead.

Bella Vista only got two plays off on its next possession. After quarterback Austin Harmer missed his target on his first pass, he was intercepted on his second by C.J. Trend giving the ball back to the Rams on the Casa Roble 17.

Three plays later, Quinn took the ball in for his second TD of the game with 1:24 left in the half. Povey was again perfect on his extra point kick and Casa Roble led 35-0.

The Rams weren't through, however. Bella Vista started its next drive from its 27. Three pass plays later, the ball was tipped by a Rams' defender into the arms of Nick Kendall for another interception, giving Casa Roble the ball back on the 45.

Wilfley used two pass plays to move the ball near the 20 where Povey hit a 32-yard field goal as time expired to give Casa Roble a 38-0 halftime lead.

Bella Vista finally got on the scoreboard in the third quarter as the teams traded touchdowns. Quarterback Austin Harmer scored for the Broncos to avoid the shutout. Casa Roble's TD brought the score to 45-7. The Rams also scored a TD in the fourth for the final 52-7 tally.

Bella Vista dropped to 0-2 in CVC play, 2-5 overall.

Wilfley passed for 252 yards and three TDs, hitting on 14 of 18 passes. Quinn had 108 yards rushing with two TDs.
